CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Albert Rosenfield
Canon: Twin Peaks
Canonpoint: Post Season 2 "Arbitrary Law" Episode. Did not return to Seattle, instead wound up stuck in Twin Peaks when the game is set.
Age: 34
Background/History: Twin Peaks wiki
Strengths v. Weaknesses:
Albert is well aware of his lack of social niceties and lets his job rule over a good detail of his social life. As stated in canon, he suffers no fools and he will leave no stones unturned. If anything is impeding his investigation or whatever path he is on, Albert will give them a piece of his mind and voice his frustrations without a second thought. Though he would like to think he is well-intentioned, the humanity, feelings and concerns of others is often neglected by his investigations. An example of this would be wanting to do an autopsy on Laura Palmer's body on the day of her funeral insinuating that the burial was less important than a forensic investigation. He is petty to a point that he will assume things such as small towns and the people in them are less advanced than their urban counterparts.

In further shortcomings and weaknesses, Albert is very short-sighted when it comes to his opinions. Because of his confidence in his ability to analyze and assess evidence, people and situations, Albert does believe that he can accurately assess a person before knowing them fully. He will hold factors such as location, manner or dress, mistakes and other small or simple details against a person. These details, in his mind, speak more about people than any acting on their part could. Examples of this are thinking that people from small towns are uneducated hicks, calling another character "annoying" based on a lengthy interjection and insinuating a blonde receptionist was too slow and going so far to spell his name slowly upon first meeting. Judgmental to a fault, he will make snide remarks about others until he sees some demonstration of personal merit and character.

For all his talking up of his own credentials and his brash personality, Albert is quite reserved. He will not partake in physical violence and will quickly evacuate a situation or find someone to hide behind if the odds are not in his favor. He is actually a very passive person and puffs himself up to mask it. Later in his canon (after the point he will be taken from at this game), he positively identifies the person who shot Cooper at the Great Northern. Though he says quite forcefully that he is ready to place them under arrest, he ultimately bends when Cooper tells him to wait and see if they turn themselves in. In another situation, after Sheriff Truman demands Laura's body released and punches Albert in the autopsy room of the Twin Peaks morgue, Albert steps behind Cooper and demands that Cooper arrest Harry rather than doing anything himself. He later files grievances against Harry with the FBI only after he has left Twin Peaks and is far away from the small-town sheriff. Though he can brim over the top with emotions, Albert will not act out in violence and will usually turn to others for backup or to fight (civilly) for him.

Albert does have credentials to back up his reputation as a capable forensic investigator and a special agent. He graduated first in his class at Yale University and is praised (with a disclosure to his personality, of course) among his peers as a cream of the crop investigator. Because he is so thorough and overlooks no detail (however petty), he is a valuable eye to any sort of mystery. His tenacity, though overbearing, consumes him to the point where he will talk about case details at breakfast with others before he partakes in any food himself. Once Albert on the scent, he does not become distracted by new places or the thought of home; he lives only in the moment and focuses on what is at hand, what is in front of him and how he can help to resolve it. His methods get results and he sees things through until the end.

Though his confidence (often to the point of being overbearing) can be seen as a weakness, Albert's lack of doubt ultimately triumphs as a strength. He does not get hung up on questions or theories that might derail his train of thought; instead these distractions get waved off with an angry stream of accusations that will, usually, keep them far away. He possesses an disciplined level of focus that does often impede with his ability to socialize, but when it comes to crucial situations and matters, Albert will always try to keep people grounded and on track to ensure things are dealt with in the most efficient and least dramatic way possible.

Finally Albert's greatest strength is his loyalty. While he tries to put strangers at a distance, those few that manage to talk, prove, punch or otherwise wriggle their way into a level of interest in Albert's eyes have his trust completely. He might question or mock people even at this caliber, such as Cooper's enthusiasm, Harry's sentiment for his home town and Gordon's impaired hearing, but there is great affection and attention to the particularity of his insults in these cases. These people are important to Albert and he will do the best to keep them out of harm's way by giving an unsolicited outsider's perspective on situations despite a natural inclination to stay out of matters that don't involve himself. While he's not a fighter or a violent man, Albert will provide support and defense to the causes of those he considers to be friends and ultimately holds their well-being as a high priority. It can sometimes be an unenthusiastic amount of loyalty, but Albert will not allow anyone he cares about to waltz into a dangerous situation without standing by himself.

Greatest Fear:
As someone who considers themselves as a together, civilized person, Albert fears the unknown. He also considers violence to fall under this umbrella as, in his mind, violent actions read as more primitive motive rather than action backed by intelligent thought. It's what fuels his thorough work mentality and his desire to dissect every part that he can about an investigation. This fear can spur him on to do work and get answers for grieving loved ones, to lock up criminals and ensure closure for all parties; a thorough investigation is the easy part of the work that he knows he can do. When it comes to motivation and intent, those details resonate in a more haunting way with him. He acknowledges that there is true evil in the world, but the root of it all alludes him and leaves him in a disassociated realm of thought. It's not a place he allows himself to get stuck because he knows that train of thought leads to a dead end that many, like himself, are afraid to face. The best he aspires to deal with or tackle this fear is by calling himself a "hatchet man" for violence and evil.

Greatest Flaw:
His apprehension to ally himself with just anyone and judging strangers on the fly does not make him a very popular member among a group of strangers. When it comes to playing along with a group to work to a common goal, he provides a decent amount of resistance and isn't shy about disagreeing with tactics or motives. In the case of dire straits he will back down, if only for his own well-being, but he will let resentment fester as a result. In a life-threatening situation, Albert's pride or someone finally calling him on one of his bluffs might win out someday.

Abilities/Powers: He's an average joe human! He does have:

- Advanced FBI training (both physical and forensic)
- Knows his way around a firearm (though he would prefer not to use one)
- Medical knowledge and training of human anatomy

1 case containing medical examiner's equipment
1 long, tan rain coat
2 black suits
3 dress shirts and ties
1 checkbook
1 wallet containing $300 cash
1 handkerchief

GAME INFORMATION
Setting Suitability:
Frankly Albert will be very frustrated to find that he is stuck in Twin Peaks for the unforeseeable future. He has just been through a very strange ordeal of seeing Laura Palmer's killer melt down realizing what he had done. While he's not sure what to make of mysticism and lore, it's a haunting impression that has expanded his mind as to the definition of evil in the world and how things aren't always so easily analyzed even with the proper credentials.

Even though Twin Peaks is Albert's canon, he is still an outsider to the town. He knows some things about the geography and places in town, but a mix of resistance and a rigid focus to his investigation has kept from from learning too much. He will struggle to adapt despite having visited the place before.

If there are mysteries abound, he will be inclined to solve them. If there are casualties or harm, he can do his best to treat injuries... but the patient will, unfortunately, be handled more like a corpse.

Ultimately, now that he's experienced "BOB" first-hand, I'm excited at the idea of Albert meeting people from different canons whose world and abilities are much different than the world he is from! These interactions will test his fears, patience, and his sense of realism.
